Canadian Manufacturer Buys Factory From Spain’s Torgar

Quebec, Canada-based equipment supplier Fraco Products Ltd. has acquired the factory of Zaragoza, Spain-based Torgar, a Spanish company that has manufactured elevator equipment for more than 40 years. Fraco said this will allow it to increase its production capacity and accelerate the implementation of its manufacturing activities in Europe. The deal also entails the exclusive acquisition of the product line marketed under the Torgar brand, including construction lifts, transport and work platforms, and industrial elevators. The new management intends to maintain production in the northeastern region of Spain.

Fraco already manufactures work and transport platforms, construction and industrial elevators, and access systems for special projects. It mainly serves the North American, European and Asian markets. The purchase will allow Fraco to offer a complete line of access solutions through its international distribution network, Julie Rainville, Fraco co-president said, adding, “The reputation of Torgar is well established; these products are found not only in Europe, but also in South American and African countries and in the Middle East.”
